The end game dialog is ready for 0.5, unless someone wants to introduce more improvements (could be myself if I have time).

Now the dialog will explain the result and the reason, giving options to go back to SeekGame or to the board. The latter is nice since you might want to analyze the final position of the game and perhaps you want still chat with your opponent.

The reasons expected to work in 0.5 are: checkmate, draw, out of time and the catch-all "has vanished".

Once the game is over the "beck" menu doesn't show anymore Resign & Draw. Instead, it leads directly to SeekGame.

We need to find the right structure for this resign() and apply it also in draw, adjourn & abort as soon as we implement them as options in OnlineBoard UI.

dear bug reporter - for new developments on the email front, i'd like to point you to http://modest.garage.maemo.org, which is an experimental new email program for internet tablets. note it requires 770 with the so-called "hacker os", or N800.

this new program is still unstable and work-in-progress, but it gives some hope for the future.

Quim, that is incorrect. The app you linked to, DBus Switchboard, has a GUI that allows the user to set their preferred apps and mime types. This is a fairly advanced function by its nature, but it is straightforward to set up new handlers and mime types once you spend some time looking at the example entries in the GUI.

I am very disappointed in the Harmattan target. To me, that isn't "fixed" at all. Is there any way to leverage the work already done with DBus Switchboard to get something into Fremantle?

The Maemo 5 User Interface and Maemo 5 platform components (e.g. libraries) used for the N900 are considered stable by Nokia and it seems that there are no plans for official updates currently, hence nobody plans to work on this enhancement/wishlist request. (And in case you feel like discussing this situation: Nokia Customer Care or http://talk.maemo.org would be the place to do so as you will not reach Nokia officials in this community bugtracker - though all of this is really no news.)

Reflecting this status by setting RESOLVED WONTFIX for this enhancement/wishlist request (see https://bugs.maemo.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#status for status explanations).

There is a small chance for issues in those Maemo components that are open source: Contributed patches could be included and made available in the Maemo 5 Community CSSU updates. Not sure if it is related, but recently on my N900 (1.2009.41-10) my memory cards (both the built-in 32GB and an inserted 16GB) changed to read-only.

First symptom was that camera started not taking pictures saying "Operation failed", but now I see in Backup application "Memory card or destination folder is read-only. Insert a different card or change folder"

quite pitty actually, that the ~/.local/share/applications (/hildon) dir can't be used to store additional .desktop files - now, unless the user installs rootsh package (which is a risky bussiness for a regular user) and does some voodoo, he can't make a custom app icon (like specify custom parameters to an app, if he e.g. wanted to create a link to app, that always opens specified internet radio)..

one thing is that maemo/Hildon doesn't (currently) support creating custom app shortcuts - it only uses those specified by .desktop files... but even if it could, they'd have to be put to /usr/.../hildon - which requires root access.. I however don't think it's a good idea to store user files to dirs other than "~" anyway...

I see similar approach (requirement to use root account to perform trivial UI stuff) on many places in Maemo - and it bothers me.. this is not how a linux system should work, and it certainly could turn against (Nokia) developers - many security holes could exist in the system...

bottom line is, ~/.local/share/applications should deffinately be supported as a search path for .desktop files - I can't think of reason, why this trivial task (worth 10 lines of code? tops...) should be marked "won't fix"...

WONTFIXing this after all.

While technically easy to do, the problem is that:

  • If we start posting HTML mails to the mailing lists a lot of users will hate us
  • If we allow HTML on web forum, but strip it away for the mailing list version the two will be unequal (links or images may disappear etc)
If these problems are acceptable then please reopen and I will implement this.

Fortunatly, the new Ubuntu release has all the necessary binary ARMEL packages to get SciPy running with BLAS/Lapack.

So for me, it is running at the moment (at least in scratchbox on ARMEL target). So i guess it should also run on the real device.
