Description Mika Tapojärvi (reporter) 2010-02-06 22:51:37 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION:
gpodder 2.2-1 for N900

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
1. First installation of gPodder
2. Run gPodder, main view is displayed
3. No subscriptions, I want to download them from my.gpodder.org
4. Click "Lisää uusi podcast" (probably "Add new podcast")
5. Scroll down the list and select "Lataa my.gpodder.orgista" (probably
"Download from m.g.o")
6. Setting dialog is displayed, modified config:
   * Enable synch. of subscription list: checked
   * Username: my_username
   * Password: my_password

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
When user (accidentally or deliberately, please see bug #8875) confirms m.g.o
settings, the subscriptions are not downloaded for some reason.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
User accepts settings and subscriptions are downloaded.

REPRODUCIBILITY:
always, at least I can't download them after several attempts

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:

OTHER COMMENTS:
This pretty much make gpodder unusable for me, unless there is some workaround.
That's why severity = critical.

I'm marking this as duplicate of bug 8875, as the real problem here is the
unintuitive settings dialog as you already mentioned. After configuring your
account, the my.gpodder.org client backend will download the list of
subscriptions and after the next click on "check for updates", a list of
changes will be displayed to the user. Of course, the "check for updates"
button is hidden if you don't have any subscriptions yet, making this totally
unworkable.
