1.start fm radio
2.especially i connect-disconnect wi-fi/hspa or using other functions
3.very often audio disappear and is necessary to restart fm radio
EXPECTED OUTCOME:that fm radio hasn't interactions and interferences with other
ACTUAL OUTCOME:very often audio disappear and is necessary to restart the app
if i listen fm radio and use other device functions, especially
connect-disconnect wi-fi or hspa.
(always, less than 1/10, 5/10, 9/10)
EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:
OTHER COMMENTS:if radio stations has low signal reception the problem is
bigger, every application i open has little interferences with fm radio audio.
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; it; rv:220.127.116.11)
Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
This should be blocker, as this issue renders FM radio useless.
1. Turn on FM radio, tune in to the radio station.
2. Disable bluetooth. Radio stops playing, as expected.
3. Enable bluetooth. Radio doesn't start playing again.
From now on radio can't be used, unless the device is rebooted.
I'm using FM Radio 2009.12.19 on Maemo 1.2009.42-11.002 and I have noticed
similar behaviour, i.e. the sound from the FM Radio just stops. I cannot be
sure what other device operation causes it.
1. Headphones plugged in and USB charger is connected. Screen is set to stay on
2. Start FM Radio.
3. Tune a station. Station is not particularly strong.
4. After a period of time, sometimes only 30 seconds, the sound from the FM
Rdaio stops. The application is still running and responding to swipes, etc.
but no sound.
5. Sometimes restarting the app restores the sounds. Other times, must reboot
OK, switching apps and starting, for example, the Email app causes the audio in
the FM Radio app to break up and will sometimes stop the audio completely.
Restarting the FM Radio app restores the audio.
I can confirm this bug, various usage of programs lets the audio first pause
and then vanish completely. Sometimes, the radio app gets unresponsive as well

this bug is also in the last version 2010.01.15 .maybe a little less but when
you listen a station with low signal or during internet navigation, often audio
This behavior is already in Maemo 5, Version: 3.2010.02-8, fm radio 2010.02.11
- N900 with enabled screen-switch-off (after 30sek of inactivity) for
energy-saving and locking device after 10min of inactivity
- starting fm radio, switch to build in speaker -> all well, until ...
- display went to a lower brightness => radio (sound) stops for 1 sec, come
back with sound, in 2 of 5 times with stuttering, in 3 of 10 without sound
- display went to black: radio stops sound in 2 of 5 times, but relay in
background without sound. need to be restarted. Other sounds (e-mail-arrivel
etc) works in background when display is black and device locked.
Is ist possible to log the fm radio-inherit process-level? And to nice it up,
when n900 went to energy-saving-mode?
And is there a wish-list for some enhancements for fm-radio?
Nicing it up does not really help (besides, only root may do this).
Nicing down (i.e. increasing the nice value) of the system processes does help
a little bit, though. Again, only root may do this.
This isn't a bug in the fm-radio application as it happens in Vagulume too. A
bug for the way the N900 handles audio applications should be opened (MAFW
locks other audio output so that it doesn't stutter when an email arrives
