maemo.org/packages/[a package in the QA queue]

1. Login to maemo.org/packages
2. go to a package in the QA queue.
3. Make a comment

Get an email notification when there is another comment made on the package.

Subsequent comments are not notified. Testers/Commenters are required to check
each package again for responses to the comments.

This is a wasteful and time-consuming procedure during the testing/rating
process. I frequently post comments and questions on a package, witholding the
vote until the author/maitainer or others respond. Checking each package that
was commented on manually is not efficient. And of course, the snail-pace of
the website make matters worse.

A solution along the lines of auto opt-in notification (after placing a
comment) would simplify the testing process. This could be extended to cases
where a vote is made without a comment.

This has now been implemented in the Midgard end and waiting for deployment.
Comment 3 Uwe Kaminski 2010-06-17 11:55:26 UTC
Any chance to get the functionality online? Or is it online and just buggy.

I'm able to check a box to get a notification but I never get one.

1. the check box should be selected by default (Should this be an extra
2. I checked it should work. Hence reopening this bug report.

Thanks Uwe

As written in comment #2 this is implemented but does not work. It is IMHO one
of the most required functions so it would be great if someone could
investigate this. Thanks
Comment 5 Andre Klapper maemo.org 2010-08-27 12:35:53 UTC
I did receive followup comments by email yesterday after commenting on a
package in non-free testing (mycontacts), hence for me it works.
