Description clmntch (reporter) 2009-12-07 02:21:44 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION:
Nokia N900
Maemo 5
Version: 1.2009.42-11.002

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
1) Open phone app
2) Check the call log

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
To see the contact and phone # that called. You can't tell which number a
contact, with multiple numbers, called from.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Only the contacts name/alias is displayed in the call log.

REPRODUCIBILITY:
Always

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:
None

OTHER COMMENTS:
Most of my contacts have multiple phone numbers. It is fairly annoying when
you check your call log for missed calls, and you don't know which number a
caller called from.

btw, Is there some sort of voice mail indicator?

Comment 3 Andre Klapper maemo.org 2009-12-14 20:09:16 UTC
"This has already been addressed internally by filtering the contact card.
Instead of seeing all the callable details, by default you only see the
number/address the event pertains to. The rest is still accessible by tapping
on the avatar.
I.e. the number is still not displayed in the call log but you'll be able to
tell which number the call came from."

This has been fixed internally. A public update released will include the fix
(either the next one or the one after).
Note that Nokia does not announce release dates of public updates in advance.

The problem reported here should be fixed in the update released today for
public: The Maemo5 update version 2.2009.51-1 (also called "PR1.1" sometimes).
Please leave a comment if the problem is not fixed for you in this update
version.
Comment 7 Aniello Del Sorbo 2010-01-14 20:54:02 UTC
In PR1.1 the Call Log behaves as described in the internal comment.
I.e. the phone number of the caller only appears if you tap on the call entry.

If I read well, the fix should mean that the caller number should appear in the
call entry without the need to tap on the entry itself.

If this was supposed to be the case, then it is not fixed in this release.
If the fix IS to show the call number when tapping the entry, then it is fixed.

Not sure what the reporter actually asked for.

Reporter said "You can't tell which number a contact, with multiple numbers,
called from". This was fixed in 1.1 (WFM).

Fine, then we can call it VERIFIED I think.
