Description tterribe (reporter) 2009-12-05 18:22:16 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION:
1.2009.42-11.002

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
1. apt-get source libspeexdsp

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
dpkg-source: unpacking libspeexdsp[...]

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
E: Unable to find a source package for libspeexdsp

REPRODUCIBILITY:
always

OTHER COMMENTS:

libspeex, libspeexdsp, and related packages are all in non-free, and thus do
not have associated source packages. Speex is BSD licensed, so Nokia is not
required to release any changes they have made as open source, however as one
of the only free codecs included on the DSP, these packages would be very
useful to the community.

The changelog entries after the package was forked from Debian are as follows:

speex (1.2~rc1-1maemo7+0m5) unstable; urgency=low

  * This entry has been added by BIFH queue processor
Suffix +0m5 added to package revision

Comment 1 Stefan Kost 2009-12-11 14:02:50 UTC
Speex is not running on the DSP (the name is misleading) and releasing this
under BSD was intentional :/.
Comment 2 Andre Klapper maemo.org 2010-02-16 19:57:26 UTC
(Moving all Licensing Change Requests to a separate Product in Bugzilla.
Sorry for the bugmail noise)
Comment 3 Pali Rohár 2013-11-28 16:51:33 UTC
