Description olaf (reporter) 2009-12-01 09:59:01 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION: 2.2009.48-5
(Settings > General > About product)

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
(Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message
Connection Failed appears))
1. Received email with attachment of 14.5 MB
2. Forward this email
3. Attachment limit of my IMAP provided is 25 MB technically (resulting in
approx 18 MB real)

EXPECTED OUTCOME: Sending of the forwarded email

ACTUAL OUTCOME: Immediate message "File too large to be attached"

REPRODUCIBILITY: always
(always, less than 1/10, 5/10, 9/10)

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED: not relevant

OTHER COMMENTS: Checking is not done with my email provider, maybe an internal
limit?

Thanks for reporting.

This happens without Nokia Messaging Service to me in 49-3, hence changing
component to General.

Yes, it's hardwired to 15M in
src/modest-defs.h:#define MODEST_MAX_ATTACHMENT_SIZE (15*1024*1024)

This is currently a WONTFIX as " we found some time ago that with bigger
attachments tinymail becomes a little bit unstable and crashes sometimes."

Of course it's not a proper fix, but manpower is limited... :-/
