STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM: - Start Phone Application. - Click on a call of the list coming/to a known contact EXPECTED OUTCOME: - Show dialog for recall, send sms, start chat ACTUAL OUTCOME: - We can only call the contact. REPRODUCIBILITY: always OTHER COMMENTS: - Long Click on the call show a menu for opening the contact dialog. This dialog permit to call/sms/chat the contact, why this isn't the default behavior? I think this ca be a big improvement for phone use of maemo 5. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.223.5 Safari/532.3
Thanks for reporting this. I cannot reproduce this in internal version 46-15. So I start "Phone", and click on an incoming call from a known, stored contact. I get "Phone" and "SMS" always offered. Which exact data is known of that contact? > - Long Click on the call show a menu for opening the contact dialog. This > dialog permit to call/sms/chat the contact, why this isn't the default > behavior? Choosing "Open contact card" from the context/long-click menu shows exactly the same as clicking the entry in the list once here... Maybe this has been fixed in the last weeks. :-/

Fixing resolution as per last comment.
(In reply to comment #3) > Fixing resolution as per last comment. > Ok, so i'm waiting for the next relase :), as in the 1.2009.42-11 the problem is still present Thanks

The "long click" context menu should be used to improves efficiency, i.e. reduce the number of clicks needed to navigate through the database and to tighten up the integration between apps. Therefore, I request that an option be added, if feasible, to go directly to editing the contact record in the Contacts app. 1. Long click on the call history to get context menu. 2. Choose new option "Edit contact card" and go straight to that dialog in the Contacts app without going through an intermediate display of the contact card, if feasible.
The problem reported here should be fixed in the update released today for public: The Maemo5 update version 2.2009.51-1 (also called "PR1.1" sometimes). Please leave a comment if the problem is not fixed for you in this update version.
Verified, this is fixed in PR1.1
