SOFTWARE VERSION: 5.2008.43-7

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:

Install
http://repository.maemo.org/rtcomm/pool/diablo/free/a/osso-accounts-plugin-idle_0.2-1.4_armel.deb
Go to Chat 
Tap Add Account
Pick IRC (yes it appears)
Type any nick and server
Tap Next
Tap Finish


EXPECTED OUTCOME:
Account appears

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
No accounts set up

REPRODUCIBILITY:
always

I can confirm this.

The IRC plugin is working perfectly fine for me with standard Diablo with the
same version of the plugin installed (done through RTCOMM).

I'm currently sitting in #maemo with it right now.

Fremantle status:

Telepathy Backend & Accounts UI support for IRC is available for Fremantle, see
http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/pool/fremantle/free/t/telepathy-idle .
I've installed the IRC one and successfully created an account and am on the
IRC server, but there is no UI that would let me join/view a channel.
See bug 5139.

This is a WONTFIX for Maemo4.
If bug 5139 for Maemo5 gets solved in the future and if the problem reporterd
here will be still an issue in Maemo5 after fixing bug 5139, please update this
report (steps, Version field) and reopen it. Thanks.
