Description Sergey Udaltsov (reporter) 2009-01-23 02:19:22 UTC
I constantly have the situation when I have multiple tracks belonging to the
same album (in mp3 tags) - and in the list of albums I see that album multiple
times, with one track per album. This happens with both English album names and
Russian album names.

If necessary, I can provide screenshots or any other info about those tracks.

Using the Multiple Album Entries tool inside Settings -> Media Library does not
work with those songs ?
If it does not join the albums correctly, please report here.
Comment 2 Sergey Udaltsov (reporter) 2009-01-23 02:25:22 UTC
No it does not. Of course I tried that.

Could you please attach a copy of ~/.canola/canola.db here, and also tell us
which version of Canola you're running.
Comment 4 Sergey Udaltsov (reporter) 2009-01-23 02:30:39 UTC
The version is beta10-maemo3. I will attach the db now.

canola db

For example, look at the album "Attack Of The New Killer Surf Guitars". Or
"Going Baroque". Or (Russian) "Антология Киношлягера".

Could you please try it with beta9 from extras ? The version
on extras-devel is not supported.
Comment 7 Sergey Udaltsov (reporter) 2009-01-23 03:45:37 UTC
Installed beta9. Rescanned the media. No difference on these albums. Interested
in canola.db?

After testing it, we found out that the bug is due to problems with the id3
tags of the files Sergey is using. He tagged them with a program called
easytag, and setting only id3v2.4 with UTF-8. After retagging them with id3v2.3
and setting the Artist field, Canola worked as expected.

Does this mean that light media scanner does not support id3v2.4?

Lightmediascanner supports id3v2.4, I've just tested it again with the files he
provided. There is a problem with the multiple album merge tool when some of
the tags are missing, which is something that we can try to change for a next
version.

Confirming this bug then. Luis, you wouldn't mind to have it assigned to you,
would you? :)
