Description Ryan Abel (reporter) maemo.org 2008-12-10 01:54:57 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:

1. Search mxr for @maemo.org
2. Notice the Nokia packages using @maemo.org addresses.
3. (Alternatively) Search through the Maemo 5 SDK Packages list in the
repository (which will likely be faster).

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
Nokia packages use an @nokia.com email address (@maemo.nokia.com was proposed)

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Some Nokia packages use @maemo.org email addresses.

REPRODUCIBILITY:
Only on certain packages from certain teams, Integration, Multimedia, and
(some) l10n seem to be the major culprits.

OTHER COMMENTS:
So far I've only seen integration@maemo.org, multimedia@maemo.org and
l10n@maemo.org, but that could be an incomplete list.

Agreed, but the Development Platform team can handle this.

I actually ran a job to gather a fremantle xref (there's an internal one for
fremantle so people internally could already do this).

I'm on sick leave (and have been sick for over a month). Internals can contact
system reliability for information about the person running the fremantle cross
reference (or if they can reach my box, they can use my dated version).

Can someone check the status of this in Fremantle? Thanks!

So far, the practice has been that all packages maintained by Developer
Platform team have the maintainer as integration@maemo.org.
About the l10n packages, I can only guess that since they create these public
l10n packages only for public maemo usage, they might be using a maemo.org
address.
Quim, what is your take on this?

What is the issue having every Nokia maintainer moving to either @nokia.com or
@maemo.nokia.com addresses?
Comment 7 Soumya nokia 2009-02-13 15:32:01 UTC
Adding Juha in CC.

I can understand the usefulness of having a 'generic' email address for certain
packages, especially if they are maintained by a team. However those team
emails often do not get answered. May I suggest an email that leads to a human
in addition to a team email?

Surely. There are now 5 people set to integration@maemo.org. I hope the
situation gets better now.

Set TM=Fremantle.

So who can push this change within Nokia to get this separated?
Comment 12 Andre Klapper maemo.org 2010-10-25 16:25:14 UTC
I haven't seen much efforts here yet so I remove the "wishful thinking" Target
Milestone.
