maemo.org Bugzilla – Bug 3629
Add Repository Statistics to Download Counter
Last modified: 2008-09-08 12:59:25 UTC

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM: Open information page on any application and select the downloads history. EXPECTED OUTCOME: The graph should take into account *all* downloads from the Extras repository, as well as all other repositories managed by Maemo team. ACTUAL OUTCOME: The graph only shows the number of times the green "Install" icon has been clicked at the web site. REPRODUCIBILITY: always
Downloads from extras and extras-devel were included in counter until 2008-08-06, when last update was done. Open http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/canola2/ and click "Download statistics" and see "Last update: 2008-08-06 07:42 UTC"
The stats *do* take downloads from the extras repository into account. There is a delay in updating the graphs as the stats are not live, but have to be parsed from logfiles.
Yeah at this time delay was only one month ;) (counters were updated today)
(In reply to comment #3) > Yeah at this time delay was only one month ;) (counters were updated today) Based on such stellar performance, may I request, as part of this bug, to make these updates automatic and conduct them on daily basis? Or should a new bug tracker be opened for this?
These stats are only available on a weekly basis and have to be checked manually. So normal updates will be weekly. (Unless I am on holiday, like I was for the last 3 weeks) I'm looking into automatic updates, but those will still be with a delay of one week. (We use a caching network of servers for the repositories and it takes a while for all the data to be gathered in a central place.)

(Unless I am on holiday, like I was > for the last 3 weeks) Please, look into doing this automatically. Doing such things manually is unacceptable. > I'm looking into automatic updates, but those will still be with a delay of one > week. One week delay is no problem, but doing this (and other similar tasks) by hand sounds really scary to me. The whole system basically depends on you not being on vacation, sick, etc.
