Unsetting submitter-set TM, as it may give the wrong impression. Christian, the milestone indicates when a bug will be/was fixed, not when you hope it will be fixed. :)
Confirming, can reproduce here (I definitely have at least one saved connection in range). Could this be related to bug #3313? They both seem to be issues with saved connections.
Thank Ryan for the information, has been my first bug report ever :-) Tested saved connections at another location, different router different WiFi settings, still same problem.
So you both use an N800, and I cannot reproduce this with an N810 - when I'm offline it just connects to a saved connection without problems. Anybody able to test what happens in case that a *saved* connection is not available? Do you at least get a dialog asking you to choose a connection?
OK, so bug 3313 could be related to this according to Ryan.
I testet some minutes ago, without any saved connection in range. Same error message disappears, after that I have to choose a connection. Seems the the device doesn't recognize that a saved profile is available regardless of the fact that the network is available or not.
What's the next step, here? I'm also seeing this phenomenon on an N800, running 4.2008.30-2. Happy to document some scenarios if that's what the "moreinfo" tag is soliciting.
This issue can be reproduced in Fremantle just like it is reported. The only difference is that the error message is "Saved connections not found" But still you are seeing a saved connection available and highlighted on top and still you need to select it manually.
This is the same issue as bug 3979, which already has an internal ID and some discussion. Marking as duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 3979 ***
