Description Johnathan (reporter) 2008-05-13 01:21:42 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION:
(Control Panel > General > About product)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:
On the N810, tap in a text area that already contains text on any website with
a submission form (the Bugzilla "new bug" description text area works for
this). using the d-pad, try to move the cursor to the spot before the first
character (on bugzilla, this would be right before the text "SOFTWARE VERSION".

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
should be able to move cursor to first position in text area.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
the focus moves outside of the text area to another part of the form, making it
impossible to insert text at the start of a text area.

REPRODUCIBILITY:
(always/sometimes/once)
always

Pretty annoying indeed. With stylus it's fairly easy to do on normal
sized input fields though so it's not completely impossible...

(with d-pad it works if you first move the cursor to beginning of the field
which moves the focus to another field, then use d-pad to return the focus
back to the input field. The browser remembers the cursor position in
the input field.)

also of course to reproduce the problem there needs to be a focusable element
in the approximate direction the cursor is moved toward, or the cursor will
stay in the text entry as expected.

I can't reproduce this anymore, after upgrading to version 4.2008.30-2.

yeah, seems to be working after the 4.2008.30-2 update.
