STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM: Install rtcom-beta-os2 2.1-15 EXPECTED OUTCOME: ACTUAL OUTCOME: device reboots right after hands logo is shown REPRODUCIBILITY: always EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED: fresh install from RX-44_2008SE_2.2007.50-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin OTHER COMMENTS:
Installs and runs fine for me here on 50-2 on an N800.
Same bug reported here: http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15439 http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=130111&postcount=165
I can't reproduce it. According to the posts at www.internettablettalk.com the problem might happen because of unhappy combination of updates. What else was installed on the device apart from the rtcomm update?
The bug occurred even on a freshly flashed 50-2 n810, without anything else installed. If it's a conflict, than it has to be with something installed by default. I am going to do some tests later today.
The same happened to me. After installing the rtcomm beta update my N810 got trashed and ended in a reboot loop. Only a OS reflash fixed it.
do people that have this issue use msn? i suspect i had it happen to me when i finally got msn correctly set up so that it logged on... or it could be that it just happened with near perfect timing for unrelated reasons...
no, I have these protocols: xmpp-local Gtalk ICQ IRC
(In reply to comment #7) > no, > I have these protocols: > xmpp-local > Gtalk > ICQ > IRC > I confirm this bug. Reboots are reproduced with an IRC account added. The removed line VCardField = X-IRC from /usr/share/osso-rtcom/idle.profile causes the problem.
Quick question: as a quick workaround, is there a way to remove all the accounts prior to install/upgrade Rtcom? I mean, my accounts for IRC and ICQ are still stored, but I cannot access them w/o installing Rtcom beta. It should be possible to do so using gconftool-2, but no clue about the path. Thx.

tried already, but it only shows "valid" accounts, only gtalk account is being shown. I managed to find the gconf tree containing other accounts, not sure I can simply wether I should remove those.
IRC account can be removed using: gconftool-2 -u --recursive-unset /apps/telepathy/mc/accounts/idle0 in order to find existing accounts use: gconftool-2 --all-dirs /apps/telepathy/mc/accounts this should allow to install RTcom w/o entering the annoying reboot loop
osso-addressbook 3.20071213 fixes the bug and the dependency on this package has been added to rtcom-beta-os2008 2.1-17 Thanks everybody for your help!
everything was working with 2.1-16 anyway :) thank you!:)
