EXPECTED OUTCOME:
Karma should credit people who are helped in Internet Tablet Talk forums

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Nothing currently.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:

ITT forums implemented a "Thanks!" feature yesterday. Readers who feel a post
is especially useful can click a "Thanks!" button to acknowledge that to the
person who made the post.

(I'm affiliated with ITT but I didn't have anything to do with implementing
this. It was all Reggie.)

Thanks! votes would seem to be more directly related to Internet Tablet karma
than Technorati or delicious or digg levels because 
- the votes are specific to posts that actually contribute something, 
- the votes are made by tablet users or want-to-be-users, the actual NIT
community
- the votes are separate from threads started and posts made at ITT

Reggie can probably be persuaded to make an API for this information so it can
be included into Karma

Alright, so you are proposing to use the Thanks! values instead of postcounts
(the way we had thought for acquiring ITt related karma in maemo.org). It's
your site, so whatever you think it's best to count user karma from ITt will
work for us as well.

Now we need to work together in order to:

- maemo users should be able to claim or link to ITt profiles in order to say:
this is me at ITt.

- ITt should provide values about users that maemo karma system can digest and
convert into karma points.

Ooops, sorry now I see at Bug 2304 that you are proposing Thanks! in addition
to postcount. Ok, no problem, let's discuss both things separatedly and let's
see what are we able to implement.

I have created an XML query to help link the itT user thanks and posts to
Karma. Here's an example:

This feature has now been implemented as a new karma plugin:

Needs to be installed to the server and then for karma recount to happen, of
course.

If you want ITT karma, ensure that you have filled the "Alter egos: Internet
Tablet Talk" URL field correctly in your profile.

When will this show up on maemo.org? I expect my karma to change.

It was deployed on the live servers yesterday afternoon, and full recount of
all accounts takes about 48 hours.
