Description Kemal Hadimli (reporter) 2007-06-05 00:08:53 UTC
ID3v2 chapters is a new (late 2005) specification for single-file audio files
(think podcasts) that have multiple content. Support for it (in both libid3 and
the media player/engine) would greatly enhance podcast experience.

"The ID3v2 Chapter Addendum was published in December 2005 but is not widely
supported as yet. It allows users to jump easily to specific locations or
chapters within an audio file and can provide a synchronized slide show of
images and titles during playback. Typical applications include Enhanced
podcasts and it can be used in ID3v2.3 or ID3v2.4 tags."

In Fremantle ID3v2 tags will be handled (by metatracker). Don't know exactly
about chapters though.

Setting HIGH visibility.
Comment 3 Quim Gil nokia 2009-05-21 14:56:08 UTC
Can someone provide a test case so I can see whether ID3v2 chapters are
integrated in Fremantle?
Comment 4 Andre Klapper maemo.org 2009-09-17 01:01:51 UTC
Kemal, can you provide a testcase?
Comment 5 Andre Klapper maemo.org 2009-09-18 13:36:07 UTC
According to ivan and ottela on IRC this is not supported in tracker in
Fremantle.

The Maemo 5 User Interface and Maemo 5 platform components (e.g. libraries)
used for the N900 are considered stable by Nokia and it seems that there are no
plans for official updates currently, hence nobody plans to work on this
enhancement/wishlist request.
(And in case you feel like discussing this situation: Nokia Customer Care or
http://talk.maemo.org would be the place to do so as you will not reach Nokia
officials in this community bugtracker - though all of this is really no news.)

Reflecting this status by setting RESOLVED WONTFIX for this
enhancement/wishlist request (see
https://bugs.maemo.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#status for status explanations).

There is a small chance for issues in those Maemo components that are open
source: Contributed patches could be included and made available in the Maemo 5
Community CSSU updates.
The Maemo CSSU project is run by a small team of volunteers; see
http://wiki.maemo.org/CSSU for more information.
So in case that you can provide a patch that fixes the reported problem, please
feel encouraged to file a request under
https://bugs.maemo.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Maemo%205%20Community%20SSU .
Please note: The Maemo CSSU project is not related in any way to Nokia.
