Description skreo56 (reporter) 2012-02-17 02:10:58 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION:
fMMS 1.3.4

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:

I have installed fAPN, then fMMS.
both "apt-get install" for fAPN and fMMS where ok
fAPN 0.6.1 works.
fMMS 1.3.4 doesn't (any more)

whenever I execute fMMS, the application opens, and I can never open the
Internet Connexion Parameters settings. I keep clicking on parameters but it
never gives me back any screen to entrer the APN's name, the MMSC, user name
password, etc...
So that, right from the start, nothing can be configured at all.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
That bloody configuration screen to work ;)

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Nothing :(

REPRODUCIBILITY:

All the time now.
It only worked twice at the beginning when I first used fMMS about 3 days ago
now. And I v'been able to send 2 MMS that people for some ugly reasons never
received??? But I saw these 2 MMS counted as sent on my IAS incoming,
yesterday.

So far, the only thing I have changedsince, was detroying and recreating APNs
with fAPN and I realy did that several times (Maybe I have confused fMMS if the
2 applications interact together, I don't know). I think nothing else really
changed since that time and now I don't know why it does'nt work anymore.

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:

kernel 2.6.28.10power46 (for h-e-n USB magic stuff) but all that was a year ago

OTHER COMMENTS:

I've tryed to distroy the ~/.fmms directory in the user's home directory, so
that the fMMS application can recreate it when executed. Well it does indeed
but it doesn't change anything in the end and I still can't get through the
fMMS parameters settings.

I 've also tried some apt-get remove or purge on fAPN and fMMS
and then some apt-get install or update.
Then I always had the application re-installed properly, but unfortunately I
still have the same bug.

And for anything concerning what's in /opt/fmms, well...you see, to me... a
Python is nothing but a very dangerous kind of snake and not much else...

Well, here it is...
Thanks a lot, if you can help.

Yours sincerely
