SOFTWARE VERSION: (Settings > General > About product) EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM: (Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message Connection Failed appears)) 1. Open PGP email 2. Try to decrypt/check for signature 3. EXPECTED OUTCOME: Decrypt encrypted mail ACTUAL OUTCOME: Modest has no support for PGP REPRODUCIBILITY: (always, less than 1/10, 5/10, 9/10) EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED: OTHER COMMENTS: Tinymail has support for PGP, see: http://www.maemonokian900.com/maemo-news/tinymail-10-released/ http://gitorious.org/tinymail/tinymail/blobs/master/libtinymail-camel/camel-lite/camel/camel-gpg-context.h http://gitorious.org/tinymail/tinymail/blobs/master/libtinymail-camel/camel-lite/camel/camel-mime-filter-pgp.h Some patches for Modest are in list: http://www.mail-archive.com/modest-devel@garage.maemo.org/msg00068.html
The patches linked to are very basic: * "only validates signatures (no decryption, no signing or encryption)" * "It does not yet integrate into the UI, just does the validation and prints a message to STDOUT" And the Modest developer says: * "adding gpg support fits better in tinymail than in Modest" Unless you can find someone to step up and polish these patches, I'd say this is a feature request against Modest rather than the CSSU. If it were a case of merging some ready patches, here's the place.
> I'd say this is a feature request against Modest rather than the CSSU. ...which would make this a duplicate of bug 4192.
