SOFTWARE VERSION: 20.2010.36-2 hildon-desktop version: 1:2.2.142-4 EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM: 1. install community SSU (testing) as explained in the wiki, reboot 2. press a keyboard shortcut like Ctrl+Backspace, Ctrl+Shift+X, or any letter while on the desktop EXPECTED OUTCOME: depending on the keys pressed, either the app menu should open, the terminal should start, or the contacts view should be opened with the pressed letters entered into the search toolbar. ACTUAL OUTCOME: nothing happens REPRODUCIBILITY: always EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED: OTHER COMMENTS:
After running gconf-schemas --register hildon-desktop-keys.schemas, the shortcuts work again. But a problem with the contacts view remains: Starting to type a name on the desktop, the contacts view is opened with just the first character typed, instead of all characters typed before the contacts view is shown. When typing quickly, I always end up with some lost characters.
Thanks for reporting this. It already seems to have been reported (and is, I think, fixed in gitorious) and can be tracked under #11813. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 11813 ***
