After successfull installation, app-manager selects the very first installable package

After successfull installation, app-manager selects the very first installable package. Though this is a normal behavior but it becomes very cumbersome to scroll down the list everytime - specially on such a small device. Steps to reproduce 1) Open app manager 2) Install an app (try to install one which is near the bottom of the list) 3) App manager will select the very first app after a success install Expected result An app at +1 or -1 position should be selected to minimize further vertical scrolling.
Yep, good point.
Sounds as a enhancement to me. Quim Gil added to cc-field
Fixed in hildon-application-manager 1.9.16. 2007-07-05 Marius Vollmer <marius.vollmer@nokia.com> * src/util.cc (global_target_path): New. (global_selection_changed): Keep it up-to-date. (make_global_package_list): Put focus on global_target_path instead of on the root item (M1148).

Re-opening as this has come back in Fremantle :(
I'm unable to reproduce this on N900 Fremantle I still think this bug as invalid for Fremantle even if it's reproducable as before installing any packages, user requires to accept a confirmation diaglog before the actual installation takes place for the app selected.
(In reply to comment #6) > I'm unable to reproduce this on N900 Fremantle > I don't know if you understand the bug correctly then. This has been confirmed for months now (I made the initial report internally before this public report was created). The bug is that you install, say, a package that begins with the letter "T" (i.e., a package that is way down in the list), after it installs, the list is reset at the "0" section (top of the list) rather than back at the "T" section. This was a bug in Diablo (sorry, can't find the report) that was fixed. Now, it*'s back in Fremantle.

Ah, understood it now. Noticed it too and quite annoying. I thought the term 'select' here meant something else.
This is a bug and I even believe it exists in the internal bugzilla.
Thanks for the heads-up. Same as bug 5135 which is resolved. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 5135 ***
