Blue tiles on the map

SOFTWARE VERSION: 0.4.1 EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM: 1. open a map, for example http://127.0.0.1:8080/wiki/en/Germany 2. zoom in many times, in order to exceed the maximum zoom level of openstreetmap. In the example above, you have to zoom in 14 times 3. try to drag the map EXPECTED OUTCOME: The map should always be displayed. Maybe the zoom option should be disabled when the maximum zoom level is reached ACTUAL OUTCOME: The map is replaced by blue tiles. Many zoom outs does not make it come back. If I open other maps, I sometimes get blue tiles instead of the correct one and/or incorrect tiles (coming from another part of the globe) REPRODUCIBILITY: always EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED: none OTHER COMMENTS: I had this problem on a Ubuntu platform : I could not try on other ones. I'm not sure that the problem comes from excessive zooming. But at least it occurs in this case User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; fr; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100915 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.10
The source code for the map component has been changed a lot, so it is very likely that this bug is gone in the next version. I will check that once the map code is stable enough again.

I still have this behavior in 0.4.2 (not final, taken from git)
(In reply to comment #3) > I still have this behavior in 0.4.2 (not final, taken from git) > Sorry, but I cannot reproduce that for the current git version under ubuntu. The zoom factor should be correctly limited now.
I don't think it is related to an excessive zoom factor. I tried to remove the ~/.cache/maps directory to see if it could be related to invalid tiles in the cache : same behavior. To illustrate the problem, I recorded a small video : you can download it at http://dl.free.fr/lp6uDvvZu I recorded it after removing the .cache/maps directory You'll see that I only need to zoom once, and that the problem appears only when I try to drag the map. It seems that, at the moment I try to drag the map, Evopedia moves me to another place on the globe. I suppose the blue tiles where simply because I was moved somewhere in the sea.
This bug is fixed now. It only occurred when zooming via the menu.
