Opening the source for Sharing services framework

I'm requesting that the source to the Sharing services framework be opened, as it would help community projects like fmms and monorail which each wish to expand on the current set of options to allow new sharing experiences and help people to connect. Currently there is no mechanism to "Share via MMS" or "Share via IM" without going to some extreme hackery (see Albans excellent blog) and would really like to expand the utility in a clean customisable way. http://alban.apinc.org/blog/2010/07/30/send-files-to-your-contacts-on-your-n900/ the sections from the openness report which would be required are: http://stskeeps.subnetmask.net/maemo.org/openness/pr1.1/Applications/Sharing/L6.html http://stskeeps.subnetmask.net/maemo.org/openness/pr1.1/Applications/Sharing/L6.html libsharing sharing-dialog sharing-services-default sharing-account-manager sharing-manager sharing-rtcom these components are all currently closed source and would greatly benefit from being opened.
damn, copy paste error, the second openness link would be: http://stskeeps.subnetmask.net/maemo.org/openness/pr1.1/Applications/Sharing/L7.html
On a related note also see http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=784443&postcount=32 . If this framework will still be around in MeeGo terms the chances are way higher I'd say (as an outsider).
there is a semi related internal bug about this on the internal tracker. NB#165497 - Feature request: Share a file with Telepathy file transfer this was filed a while ago and was implemented as open source by the workarounds described by Alban. It would be nice to not have to file bugs like this if we can get the framework opened. (filed here mostly for completeness)

Hi, first of all let me check with the Sharing Framework owners whether they have got any discussion about re-licensing in the past, and what are the plans for Harmattan/MeeGo.
Is there any chance to re-licensing?
See http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=784443&postcount=32
This week I plan to discuss with Mika Leppinen what to do with the Maemo 5 licensing change requests. I will update here as soon as I know something.
Do you know something new about licensing change requests?
Sorry for not answering before to this request. Nokia contributed to the MeeGo project http://meego.gitorious.org/meego-sharing-framework months ago. This is not the same codebase used in Maemo 5 but this is the codebase Nokia is working on now and proposing for future developments. I don't expect any relicensing of the Sharing Framework for Maemo 5. You can decide the most appropriate resolution for this request, fixed or wontfix depending on how you look at it...
WONTFIX as per last comment.
