You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
SOFTWARE VERSION: (Settings > General > About product) N/A EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM: (Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message Connection Failed appears)) create and upload a package containing "*" and/or "<foo>" in control file description section. example here: starhash-enabler, description is: Description: Enables the *xx# Service Codes in dialer. According 3GPP TS22.030 Finally turns your N900 into a full-featured phone capable to dial Service Codes like *67# call redirect on busy, etc. -- Some useful codes: **61*<number>**<time-in-seconds,5,10,..,30># : set up redirect to <number> after <seconds> ringing #61# :deactivate; *61# :activate; *#61# :query status ... [hope we're not facing same issue here in wiki :-P]] EXPECTED OUTCOME: webpage should display description verbatim ACTUAL OUTCOME: see http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-devel_free_armel/starhash-enabler/0.1/ e.g ""Some useful codes: **61*<number>**<time-in-seconds,5,10,..,30># : set up redirect to <number> after <seconds> ringing"" is rendered as ""Some useful codes: *61*# : set up redirect to after ringing"" REPRODUCIBILITY: always OTHER COMMENTS: * is converted to <em> / </em> (BBcode?) <foo> is not getting escaped [2010-07-23 15:05:06] <bergie> DocScrutinizer: ok, that is an easy fix. Can you post a bug (and assign to Niels?) [2010-07-23 15:07:22] <bergie> though the actual code is in http://trac.midgard-project.org/browser/branches/ragnaroek/midcom/org.maemo.packages [2010-07-23 15:08:20] <bergie> DocScrutinizer: and the actual issue comes from http://trac.midgard-project.org/browser/branches/ragnaroek/midcom/org.maemo.packages/config/schemadb_package_default.inc#L43 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.3; Linux; de) KHTML/4.3.1 (like Gecko) SUSE
<foo> probably needs conversion to <foo> same issue applies to comments, see http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-devel_free_armel/starhash-enabler/0.1/ I gather the BB markup '*' has been silently fixed meanwhile :-)
Markdown removed from description.
