Hi, can you please install Crash Reporter from the SDK Tools repository in order to send coredumps directly to Nokia? See http://wiki.maemo.org/Extras-testing#Tools_for_testers for a how-to. If you are offered to add a comment for sending the coredump file, please mention this bug number (like "see bugs.maemo.org bug number xxxx"). Also, a filename will be displayed after uploading the coredump. Please add the name of that file here in the bug report.
Tested & Confirmed.
...but still need a crash reporter ID.
(In reply to comment #3) > ...but still need a crash reporter ID. > It's controlpanel-0830-11-1544.rcore.lzo.
(In reply to comment #0) > REPRODUCIBILITY: > (always, less than 1/10, 5/10, 9/10) Missing...
Strange. I'm sure I uploaded it. Anyway, here's another one: controlpanel-0830-11-29239.rcore.lzo
Do you have a SIM card in your phone? - If so, what is the country of your SIM card? - If not, is the control panel crash also reproducible with a SIM card? What country did you configure in the regional settings?
(In reply to comment #7) > Do you have a SIM card in your phone? > - If so, what is the country of your SIM card? > - If not, is the control panel crash also reproducible with a SIM card? > > What country did you configure in the regional settings? > I do have a SIM card. I'm from Egypt. I used to have Egypt in my Regional Settings but since I didn't want Arabic numbers to show up in each app, I set it to the US. Is that the problem ?
Egypt too, regional settings Egypt and device language English (UK).
This has been fixed in package cherry 0.25-1+0m5 which is part of the internal build version 2010.35-1 (Note: 2010 is the year, and the number after is the week.) A future public update released with the year/week later than this internal build version will include the fix. (This is not always already the next public update.) Please verify that this new version fixes the bug by marking this bug report as VERIFIED after the public update has been released and if you have some time. To answer popular followup questions: * Nokia does not announce release dates of public updates in advance. * There is currently no access to these internal, non-public build versions. A Brainstorm proposal to change this exists at http://maemo.org/community/brainstorm/view/undelayed_bugfix_releases_for_nokia_open_source_packages-002/
The problem reported here should be fixed in the update that was released today for public: The Maemo5 update version 20.2010.36-2 (also called "PR1.3" sometimes). Please leave a comment if the problem is not fixed for you in this update version.
