Description Jerker Rolander (reporter) 2010-05-28 09:03:02 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION:
(Settings > General > About product)

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
(Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message
Connection Failed appears))
1. Using bluetooth headset Jabra BT3030, the headset is quiet during phone
calls. It still works while listening to media from the N900. This was not a
problem with 3.2010.02-8 The headset worked properly with that one.
2. The screen still indicates headset connected. I have to deselect "headset"
and speak and listen directly to the hand unit.
3.

EXPECTED OUTCOME: Being able to use the BT headset during phone calls

ACTUAL OUTCOME: The headset is quiet and does not transmit my voice either.

REPRODUCIBILITY: Always
(always, less than 1/10, 5/10, 9/10)

First thing that comes to mind is have you tried to remove the pairing on the
N900 side and repair? It could be that the profile information about the
headset has somehow gotten corrupted during the upgrade (just a guess though).

If repairing doesn't help we'll need some more detailed logs to analyze this
further.

Please use the bugzilla commenting interface instead of email in the future.
Here's the reply from Jerker:

"Yes, that was my first thought too, so I did remove the paring and pared
them together again, but with the same result. Now, however, I tried this: I
unpaired them and then restarted both the N900 and the headset and then made
a new pairing, and now it works perfectly!

Sorry to bother you, I should of course have done this first!
"

So I suppose this is WORKSFORME then.

After some tips from the team here I tried this:

1. I removed the pairing to the headset
2. Restarted both the N900 and the headset
3. Then paring again

This helped me.

Note: Before I reported this bug, I had already tried just to unpair and pair
together again, but that did not help. A restart in unpaired mode was also
nescessary.

Restoring "WORKSFORME" status as no codefix was involved.
