SOFTWARE VERSION: 10.2010.19-1.002 EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM: (Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message Connection Failed appears)) 1. Settings -> Location-> GPS: Enable, GPS Device:Internal / Network Positioning: Disable 2. Launch Ovi Maps EXPECTED OUTCOME: The GPS connects withing a minute or 2 of launching OVI maps. ACTUAL OUTCOME: The internal GPS never gets a lock even after trying for 20 minutes. REPRODUCIBILITY: Always EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED: None OTHER COMMENTS: I was under the impression that this issue was resolved with the new firmware release, however this doesn't seem to be the case. I don't have a data plan, and this issue renders the N900 GPS feature useless for me. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
I tested this outside again on a cloudy day and it worked, and the accuracy is quite good too. It picked up the signal in less than a minute. Sorry for the invalid bug report.
Bug is closed as it is working properly. I would like to thank the Maemo team for fixing this with the new firmware update.
