Description Royden (reporter) 2010-05-26 22:22:43 UTC
SOFTWARE VERSION:

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
(Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message
Connection Failed appears))
1. Settings -> Location-> GPS: Enable, GPS Device:Internal  / Network
Positioning: Disable
2. Launch Ovi Maps

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
The GPS connects withing a minute or 2 of launching OVI maps.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
The internal GPS never gets a lock even after trying for 20 minutes.

REPRODUCIBILITY:
Always

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:
None

OTHER COMMENTS:
I was under the impression that this issue was resolved with the new firmware
release, however this doesn't seem to be the case.
I don't have a data plan, and this issue renders the N900 GPS feature useless
for me.

Comment 1 Royden (reporter) 2010-05-27 05:16:45 UTC
I tested this outside again on a cloudy day and it worked, and the accuracy is
quite good too. It picked up the signal in less than a minute. Sorry for the
invalid bug report.
Comment 2 Royden (reporter) 2010-05-27 05:21:21 UTC
Bug is closed as it is working properly.
I would like to thank the Maemo team for fixing this with the new firmware
update.
