SOFTWARE VERSION: (Settings > General > About product) EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM: (Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message Connection Failed appears)) 1. Connect USB hub through appropriate adaptor to n900. 2. echo host > ./devices/platform/musb_hdrc/mode EXPECTED OUTCOME: Devices show up in lsusb, and work - with appropriate kernel modules install. ACTUAL OUTCOME: They don't. REPRODUCIBILITY: always EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED: OTHER COMMENTS: The hardware does in fact work somewhat in USB host mode. http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=657866&postcount=860 This shows details of egoshin succeeding in mounting a USB stick. Others have had success with DisplayLink adaptors, to connect an external monitor, and USB hubs. This mode is currently very flaky, as it relies on somehow prodding the partially working OTG support into hostmode. It does not switch the hardware into host mode, but relies on side-effects to get it there. It is also not in principle user friendly, as it relies on having an external PC to plug it into, in order to setup the required conditions. If Nokia cannot provide this - is there any way to provide documents helpful to the members of the community interested in developing this - for example any source code that may have been removed that was designed to support USB host, access to the isp1707a datasheet? There are a few threads about this in talk.maemo.org and it was announced here: http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/maemo-developers/2009-September/020830.html Nokia currently has no plans to support this, as far as I know.
