Hi Rajil, thanks for reporting this! Can you please also provide a syslog when this happens? See http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/devtools/maemo5/syslog and http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/devtools/maemo5#Installation for more information. If you are not used to Linux, after creating the syslog file you can copy the syslog file to those folders that are visible in the Maemo File Manager by: * Starting X Terminal * cp /var/log/syslog /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/ After that you can find the file in the Maemo File Manager by going to Nokia N900 > Documents.
Created an attachment (id=2674) [details] syslog I connected to 3g at 14:26:42. Was able to browse. Soon after i couldnt connect anymore although the link was showing as connected. I disconnected the 3g connection after that.
I have also noticed that if i keep a ping request to google.com in xterm, then N900 doesnt disconnect. In such a case the 3.5g is always maintained (doesnt go to 3g). However this has a hit on the battery as you would expect. I also tried the same sim in N95 but did not face this problem. The N95 was able to transition from 3.5g to 3g and back to 3.5g unlike N900. Please let me know if i could help with any more info.
"Syslogs contain nothing useful and I cannot reproduce the problem. Tried with Sonera and NTN networks in Finland. There is nothing we can do about it. Perhaps reporter could try the phone in a another network."
