As I see it, the hardware keyboard available in N900 is one of the significant
advantages it has compared to competitors like the Iphone.

It is unfortunate that the keyboard is not used to its full potential.

For example, every time there is a list on screen, then writing something on
the keyboard should by default filter the list or at least move to focus to a
line that matches what was written on the keyboard. At the moment, only the
Contacs app works like this.

As this is a metabug, it is intended to follow up on dependent bug reports.
