The profile list at http://maemo.org/profile/list/ needs some love. It does not indicate Nokia affiliation (a check-box which is used only in Bugzilla right now, as far as I can tell), for example, which is important to a "who's who" list. Other possible improvements: We could list the areas where a person has gotten their karma or the interests they declare in their profile. We could link to the list from a couple of places - the Community page, or from individual profiles (for example, everywhere you see a karma score, you could have a link to that person's "rank" in the list - get a competition for karma points going ;) In any case, I think that adding the Nokia affiliation is quite important, and should be done as soon as possible. Thanks, Dave.
It is not indicated on http://maemo.org/profile/list/ , but in the profiles themselves it is, see e.g. http://maemo.org/profile/view/andre/ , so the data already exists outside of Bugzilla.
Obviously, I meant "used" - for me, the profile is just a display of what the user entered on their account. You have to click through to the profile to see that. Whereas in Bugzilla, if a person has a nokia.com email address, they're signaled as such.
A format for the listing apparently easy to hack now could be: # <hackergotchi> <Name> <Surname> aka <userid> (<company>/<project>) Nokia employees would be identified because they would introduce "Nokia" in the company field. However, it would be nice to have an automatic Nokia autocompletion when one of the email addresses of the profile has a @nokia.com - like bugzilla does. This would solve this bug now in an elegant way, and in the current sprint if possible. The Who is Who task (committed since May) needs it. If you want, later we can discuss deeper improvements of the profiles in a wiki page.
We are working on this, and a half-ready version is already on internal. Further details to come tomorrow.
The list should show the general company name, not just Nokia affiliation.
