Description James (reporter) 2007-06-14 21:55:15 UTC
When inserting text into textareas in opera, using the full screen thumb
keyboard, I found that the text would often become garbled and have chunks
repeated. It appears to occur when I open and hide the keyboard, doing so
repetitively between words causes the text to become even more borked. I find
that one character is repeated various times at the beginning, then the chunks
are repeated according to when I open and close the keyboard.
These screenshots illustrate what happens. Each time, the text was typed only
once, hiding and expanding the keyboard various times while writing.

sadly, this bug was never migrated internally. as it happens the integration
between the maemo input methods and other applications was fairly poor. microb
at one point suffered from this at least when using the stylus input method.

as we're no longer shipping opera this bug will not be fixed.

future versions of the tablet will probably include rewritten input method
support and maybe some future version will work.

I'm assuming you're using version 3 and would suggest you consider upgrading to
the latest version of OS 2008 which has microb
