mvo suggested a slightly different solution: we set up a file in garage.maemo.org where the community maintainers could list the pacakges that they would like to see in non-free and a cron script on stage would copy these packages from eg. updates/diablo-1 to updates/diablo-1/non-free. I am still waiting for approval/rejection for the whole idea though. --[[User:marcell|marcell]] | mvo suggested a slightly different solution: we set up a file in garage.maemo.org where the community maintainers could list the pacakges that they would like to see in non-free and a cron script on stage would copy these packages from eg. updates/diablo-1 to updates/diablo-1/non-free. + | Please leave "osso" rest in peace and don't use it in anything new. Yes, it is still in the name of packages and stuff but from our perspective this is all legacy in the way of deprecation. Thanks! --[[User:qgil|qgil]] 08:26, 30 October 2008 (UTC) |

[edit] Busybox
Would some repackaging to avoid the conflicts between busybox and coreutils et al. (or replacing busybox for good) as discussed in maemo-developers be plausible in the community distribution? --benson 03:03, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was thinking about this yesterday. The problem isn't really the packaging, but setting up the initscripts so they don't choke on the gnutils. Obviously somebody will have to work this all out, but it's a perfectly reasonable goal for the community distribution to allow swapping in coreutils components easily. —GeneralAntilles 07:01, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
